Luxe Living: FALLINGWATER

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been is Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. It's located in one of my favorite areas, the Allegheny Mountains; about an hour from where I live. This part of western Pennsylvania is a popular place for Pittsburghers to spend their summers camping or winters skiing. The area is so serene and full of natural beauty. I love weekends there with my friends... warm bonfires, cold drinks, fresh air, good music and stargazing. It doesn't get any better!

Aside from Fallingwater's notoriety for integrating the outdoors into living quarters, what I admire most is its concept on floor plans. The design allows for smaller bedrooms and larger living areas; thus provoking its inhabitants to spend time in common spaces with their friends and family. That idea of community has been something that has always stuck with me. Despite studying broadcasting in college and currently working in PR, I have an introverted personality. I can easily lock myself in my room for hours and not speak to anyone and be totally content. But at the same time, I do enjoy the company of those I care about. A home like Fallingwater encourages people to appreciate each other and to create memories.

If you live in driving distance to Fallingwater or if you're interested in visiting, I highly recommend a stay in the Laurel Highlands. It's an interesting experience and an amazing place to see.
