February Favorites!

EOS lip balms. I love these little spheres. They are super cute and quite addicting but I fear that I'm in lust with its packaging rather than the product itself. Honeysuckle & Lemon are my current favorites but I have yet to try the Mint!

Vera Wang Perfume. I've had this fragrance for awhile. I got it on sale at Marshall's- score! Maybe that's why I have neglected it and treated it like it wasn't as good as some of my finer fragrances. Nevertheless, in February, I grabbed this one quite a lot. Maybe because Vera is synonymous with weddings and I've been preparing for my friend Maggie's March nuptials.

My favorite piece of jewelry this month (and one of my favorites for a lifetime) were the earrings my mom got me for my 25th birthday on the 1st. They are green amethyst and diamonds and so beautiful! They are subtle enough to wear in the daytime but are unique and beautiful enough for evenings. They go well with just about anything. I LOVE them!

Revlon Perplex nail polish. It's basically an exact dupe for Chanel's Paradoxal. I got it for a dollar at Big Lots! I have been on a purple/lavender kick all month long. Purple reminds me of February because it's still winter, Amethyst is my birthstone, it's close in the color family to reds (Valentine's) and because when Spring finally rolls around, it's all about lavenders and light pastels. I loved wearing this polish in February and can't wait to wear it again in the fall.

February in Pittsburgh is notorious for nasty weather. While we were fortunate enough to have a splash of Spring temps, there was definitely a lot of rain and snow this month. That's when my KORS Michael Kors rainboots came in handy! I ordered them from shopbop.com on sale as a birthday gift with intentions of wearing them to Bonnaroo but I've been getting a lot of wear out of them. I have a hard time finding boots that fit me nicely but I couldn't be happier. They remind me of Daria Morgendorffer's combat boots but with a splash of Quinn's fashion sense, lol!

I purchased quite a few lipglosses this month but I kept reaching for Revlon's ColorBurst Lipglosses in Hot Pink, Orchid and Crystal Lilac. These lipglosses are creamy, non-sticky, pigmented and affordable. The packaging is so beautiful and I like them better than my Chanel glossimers!

This month I have been experimenting with blush. I have used the same few shades of blush for year's but lately, I have tried a few new ones. I saw one of the beauty gurus on YouTube apply MAC's Pink Swoon and thought it looked great. I bought it for myself and I love it! It's very subtle but gives a nice brightness to the face. I love it!

I asked for the Urban Decay Naked Palette for my 25th birthday and I'm sooo happy that I scored the last one at my Ulta. I got the original packaging with the duo-sided 24/7 eyeliners and they are amazing. The colors do have a bit of glitter fallout, but if you can get passed that it's so worth it. I've never used Urban Decay before but I am now a devoted fan. If I had to use one eye palette for the rest of my life, Naked would be it! The whiskey eyeliner looks amazing against my coloring, the baby primer potion is fantastic and the colors are so versatile. I can't recommend this product enough to any girl who loves a natural eye with a little bit of glamour!

My favorite lipstick this month was Chanel's Aqualumiere in Galapagos (101). I'm all about finding the perfect shade of pink. This just might be it! It's formula is like butter and the color is subtle yet chic.

NARS Albatross was one of the first products I splurged on from the company and this month, I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. This is such an excellent quality highlighter. I use it to highlight my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, my cupid's bow and even my brow bone. It's on the pricer side but a little goes a long way!

My favorite fashion/beauty moment of February was Selena Gomez in J. Mendel at the Grammy's. I adore this look in its entirety. The dress is gorgeous, the face is fresh, the hair is fabulous. I want that lipstick/lipgloss... need to find out the brand!

My favorite beer of the month was Samuel Adams' Noble Pils. I had this during happy hour after my friend's bridal shower. And a happy hour it was! Delicious!

My favorite YouTube Channel of the month was WinterRose84. She's a beauty guru from Australia who is fair-skinned like me. She has such a beautiful accent and I could listen to her talk for hours about her massive and enviable nail polish collection (she must have 400 bottles of OPI alone). She also has more Lancome Juicy Tubes than I have ever seen in my life! But she seems like a sweet girl who just loves to collect makeup. Check her out!

My favorite movie of the month was Conviction starring Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell. This film came out in the fall but I didn't get to see it until it was released OnDemand. I thought it was excellent! It was so interesting and well-acted that the movie felt like it was only 30 minutes. You know you're watching a good movie when you don't look to see how much time is left! It was based on a true story and it was very inspiring! I highly recommend you watch this if you haven't done so already.

My favorite song of the month was hands down, "Lotus Flower" by Radiohead. I have listened to this on repeat countless times. It doesn't get old for me. I think the video is interesting as well but the song- wow. It's gorgeous. I just LOVE it!

Best Dressed: Oscars 2011

The Golden Hanger once again goes to actress, Mila Kunis. She looked absolutely stunning in this lavender gown by Elie Saab. I adore the lace detailing, the neckline, the train, the color... There isn't a thing I don't love about this dress! I'm not crazy about Mila's hair but her makeup was nicely done. The simple jewels were also an added touch of elegance.

Cate Blanchett wowed in this unique, Givenchy dress. I think it was somewhat of a risk but it worked. It's quite elegant. Despite being what I would call a modern silhouette, I could see this being worn on the red carpet at any period in time- old Hollywood era, today or the distant future. Very interesting.

I thought Gwyneth Paltrow looked sleek and statuesque in this metallic gown by Calvin Klein. I'm not feeling the broach or the jewels but the dress and simple hair style were pure, modern, elegance. The lining of the dress threw me off a bit as well but with legs like Gwyneth's, who needs it?

I absolutely loved this Marchesa gown on Halle Berry. The bottom is a bit confusing but it somehow comes together nicely on Halle's flawless figure. The top of this gown is perfection! The hair and makeup- gorgeous. Loved it!

Another look that I neglected to mention initially was Celine Dion in Armani Prive. I think this gown looked unbelievable on Celine- can you believe she gave birth to twins just a few short months ago? I love the color, the cut, the sleeves, the fabric- fabulous!

Mandy Moore looked like royalty in this stunning Monique Lhuillier gown. I forgot to add this to my best-dressed list because I didn't see it live, on the red carpet. She looked so gorgeous. This is a dress that I would want to wear. Flawless!

Also in Marchesa, was 14-year-old nominee, Hailee Steinfeld. She designed this tea-length dress herself! Talk about multi-talented. I thought she looked age-appropriate, timeless and so regal. I adored the color on her and the shoes went perfectly with the silhouette and fabric.

Someone who doesn't usually cross my best-dressed radar was Michelle Williams. I thought she looked sophisticated in Chanel. I have yet to see her film, Blue Valentine, but it is definitely on my list. Her makeup looked fresh and pretty and I think her dress' silhouette went wonderfully with her hair.

One of the most beautiful women on the red carpet was Matthew McConaughey's model wife, Camila Alves. She looked other worldly in this stunning design by Kaufman Franco. She's so gorgeous and this dress is to die for. Speechless!

Hilary Swank looked spectacular in this fabulous gown by Gucci. I'm a sucker for anything metallic or feathery. I don't love Hilary's hair & makeup but the look comes together nicely enough. I found her film, Conviction, to be one of the best movies of the year.

Overall, I think these dresses were the best of the best. But I don't think there was an overwhelming amount of fashion on this year's red carpet. There weren't even any notable mentions or true disasters for me to report on. Thus far, I found the show to be rather unremarkable and boring- but I suppose most award shows are these things. Here's to the next one.

Nail Polish of the Moment: Parlez-Vous OPI?

Parlez-Vous OPI? by OPI

In keeping with my lavender/purple moment, I opted for OPI's Parlez-Vous OPI? This particular polish was a part of the France collection from a few years back. The color looks nice against my fair complexion but it's a little bit dull. I would describe it as a muted purple with grey undertones. It's a nice color but I wouldn't say it's a must have. I do like the formula. Despite not being blown away by Parlez-Vous OPI?, I'd still recommend it to someone looking for a purple that is subtle enough for work but unique enough for evenings. I used OPI's base coat, 2 coats of Parlez-Vous OPI?, and OPI's Top Coat to achieve a nice, cream finish.

My camera did not pick this color up properly at all! It's actually quite muted and not so Barney. Ignore the paint around my cuticles, haha. Laziness!

True Talent: Adele Performing "Someone Like You"

Adele was just on The Early Show performing "Someone Like You". I'm sure the video will be up later today, but I couldn't wait. She is so immensely talented. I adore her voice. This song is gorgeous.

Lyrics:
I heard that your settled down.
That you found a girl and your married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you.

Old friend, why are you so shy?
It ain't like you to hold back or hide from the lie.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited,
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I hoped you'd see my face & that you'd be reminded,
That for me, it isn't over.

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah.

You'd know how the time flies.
Only yesterday was the time of our lives.
We were born and raised in a summery haze.
Bound by the surprise of our glory days.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited,
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I hoped you'd see my face & that you'd be reminded,
That for me, it isn't over yet.

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead", yay.

Nothing compares, no worries or cares.
Regret's and mistakes they're memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me, I beg, I remembered you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"

Nevermind, I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me, I beg, I remembered you said:-
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah.

Makeup Challenge: Arab Inspired

One of the beauty gurus on YouTube, MakeupGeekTV, is sponsoring a makeup challenge on her website. The challenge this time, is to create an arab-inspired look. I love makeup, themes and a challenge. So, this contest was right up my alley. I believe the prize is a set of brushes from Sigma. I don't own any Sigma brushes but have heard wonderful things. It would be amazing to win this but there have been hundreds of submissions from extremely talented artists and also from girls who just love makeup.

I had fun putting this looking together. I did it rather quickly and without much thought. I grabbed the brightest eye palette I had (which I paid about a buck or two for) and got to work. I went with the flow and the results are below (yes, that rhymed). FYI- I had Radiohead's "Lotus Flower" on repeat while I was doing this look. I can't get enough of that song! The design below my eyes was done to mimic the arabic language. I hope I didn't end up writing something that actually means something offensive.

The products I used will be listed below the pictures. I hope you enjoy this look. It would be fun for Halloween or a costume party!

Products Used:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Wildflowers (EP42)
NARS Albatross -Eyeshadow Highlight
Ben Nye Creme Colors in Black (CL-29) -Brows & definition
Wet N Wild Kohl Brow Eyeliner in Black (651) -Lower Lash Line
Maybelline Ultra Liner Waterproof in Black -Upper Lash Line & Arabic Writing
Almay Intense i-color Lengthening Mascara in Black Pearl- Upper Lashes
MAC Zoom Lash in Zoomblack- Lower Lashes

The purple/silver scarf was a 24th birthday gift and I don't recall where I got the mustard pashmina- Pier 1 a few years ago, perhaps?

Nail Polish of the Moment: Give Me the Moon by OPI

Give Me the Moon by OPI

I ordered this nail polish from Amazon.com but I was a bit hesitant. I find that pearlescent shades of polish can look cheap and dated. But lately, I have been on a lavender kick. I decided to go for a different finish. I'm glad I left my comfort zone because I love this nail polish! In the bottle, it looks like a flat grey or dusty lavender but on the nails, it is magical, haha. Give Me the Moon is a beautiful periwinkle with grey/blue undertones (a slight bit of microshimmer) and looks lovely against my very fair skin. For those who can actually achieve a tan, I imagine this color would look gorgeous on the toes during the summer months. It would also go great with whites or pastel outfits. I can't wait to use it again when the weather gets warmer.

OPI Base Coat with 2 Coats of Give Me the Moon by OPI

I'm a sucker for the names that OPI comes up with. I love the moon, so I had high hopes for this polish. My middle name even translates to the word moon in Greek- haha. Give Me the Moon did not disappoint and I will certainly repurchase it if I can find it when the time comes! I definitely recommend Give Me the Moon for the nails for fair skin, the toes for darker complexions or just to anyone who loves this type of formula!

Beer of the Moment: Samuel Adams' Noble Pils

I first tasted this delightful substance after my friend's bridal shower. Best of all, it was during happy hour at Walnut Grove in Fox Chapel. I didn't even pay full price! I'm terrible at deciphering and/or describing tastes but I will say it was excellent and I can't wait to have another! A+ for this Spring brew.

From the experts:
"Samuel Adams® Noble Pils is brewed with all 5 Noble hops for a distinct hop character and fresh taste. Deep golden in color with a citrusy hop aroma, Samuel Adams Noble Pils is a traditional Bohemian Pilsner. The honeyed malt character from traditional Bohemian malt is balanced by delicate yet pronounced citrus, floral, and piney notes from the Noble hops. The winner of our 2009 Beer Lover's Choice® election, this beer was chosen by over 67,000 drinkers for its crisp complexity and refreshing taste."

Nail Polish of the Moment: Perplex by Revlon

Side by side comparison between Revlon's Perplex and Chanel's Paradoxal

I scored Revlon's Perplex (a beautiful purple, grey hue with a slight amethyst microshimmer) at Big Lots for a dollar! It retails for around $4.99 at drugstores. It was created to mimic Chanel's much more expensive Paradoxal- $25 at department stores. While I don't love Revlon's brush and the formula can be a little bit tricky to work with, I think this was a fabulous find! I am going to try and snatch a few back-ups because Perplex is in high demand. How it ended up at Big Lots for a dollar is beyond me.

Photo curtesy Google Images via another blog. Astounding!

Because it's still February, I thought the timing for me finding this polish was perfect. It's still winter and this shade is similiar to my birthstone (Amethyst for February). I wore it to my friend's bridal shower and I couldn't stop admiring my manicure. I highly recommend this one!

15 Interesting Questions Tag

I really love answering surveys. One of the popular guru girls on YouTube, AllThatGlitters21, posted a very interesting set of questions. Here are my responses!

1. What do you think you can do but can't?
Walk in high heels. I can generally make it from point A to point B without falling but the backs of my feet are so messed up. Like many girls, by the end of the night, my feet are killing me but my Haglund's Deformity makes it that much more uncomfortable. Yet I continue to be delusionally optimistic that my feet won't bother me. I can sometimes look like Jimmy from the show South Park when I'm leaving the bar.

2. What's a difficult word for you to pronounce?
The word "rural" used to be tricky for me to say but I think I mastered the rolling r's. I don't usually get corrected for pronunciation- that's one area where I think I excel. In other words (no pun intended), I'm sure there are some but I can't think of any at the moment.

3. What is a favorite TV show from your childhood?
Under the Umbrella Tree- I loved Gloria the gopher, Avonlea/Anne of Green Gables, Mr. Rodgers, Mama's Family, Salute Your Shorts, Clairssa Explains It All, Full House, Kids Incorporated, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, The Mickey Mouse Club, The Munsters, The Brady Bunch, Supermarket Sweep, Doubledare, Saved by the Bell... I have so many. I miss the old Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Nick at Night classics.

4. What are your virtues and vices?
If I'm sticking to the Catholicism set- I'm kind and patient. But on a broader scale, I'm very compassionate, loving, caring and considerate. My vices (under Dante's guidelines) include vanity (I love beauty products), sloth (I'm lazy) and gluttony (I love too much pizza and beer).

5. What's more important: love, fame, power, or money?
110% LOVE! Fame would be interesting for a bit but it doesn't interest me much. I have no desire to be in power of anyone's life other than my own. Money is great but it can't make you truly happy.

6. If you could live in any era/time period, when would it be and why?
I really appreciate the time in which I am currently living (and my location in the world). Not too long ago, I wouldn't have the sames rights that I do, today (in America, atleast). A psychic once told me I was British royalty during the victorian era- I loved hearing that. I connect with the history, architecture and fashions of that period of time. The roaring 20s also seemed like a fun decade. I am fascinated by the distant future- when we are capable of traveling to different galaxies and our technology is far more advanced.

7. If you had to redo your entire wardrobe with 2 stores, what would they be and why?
Nordstrom & Forever 21. Forever is my favorite store bc it's current and affordable. I like to mix classic staples like jeans, shoes and bags (Nordstrom) with trendy blouses or other pieces from Forever 21. Blending high and low is an art form, lol. It's fun for me. I was tempted to say the thrift store but I prefer those for random treasures or vintage pieces.

8. Can you recall what you were doing a year ago on this day?
Probably still digging out from Snowmageddon 2010. Pittsburgh had more snow than I had ever seen in my life. I was also starting to look for a new job.

9. Do you have reoccurring dreams? If so, explain?
I may dream of the same people from my past who are on my mind but I don't have any particular dreams that play out the exact same. I sometimes dream that I have a big event but not anything prepared or the things I need. I love to interpret dreams- there is a lot of psychology involved. I'm a pretty good dream decoder if you're ever looking for someone to explain what yours may indicate.

10. What's your horoscope?
Sun: Aquarius (I'm quadruple Aquarian)
Moon: Scorpio
Rising: Cancer
I am fascinated by this ancient study of the stars.

11. What does your dream bedroom look like?
Shabby chic! Antique furniture. Floral bedspread. Four post, canopy bed. Elegant chandelier. Lots of candles and bookshelves. Wall-mounted flat screen TV. Fireplace. Picture window with seat. Master bathroom/closet off to the side. French/Cottage style. Pinks, lavenders, mint greens, creams, whites, golds.

12. What position do you sleep in?
Fetal- curled-up, on my side. I wish I could sleep on my back because it's supposedly better for breathing and causes far less wrinkles. I sort of need to grip or hold on to something to fall asleep- teddy bear, pillow, etc.

13. Who is your favorite vampire of all time?
It's a toss-up between Brad Pitt's Louis from Interview with the Vampire (I loved his complexity) or Alexander Skarsgard's Eric Northman on HBO's True Blood (his sexuality and humor get me going).

14. What are you currently wearing on your feet?
A Hello Kitty blanket- my slippers are somewhere around the house.

15. Do you have neat handwriting? Show us!
Yes! In grade school, I used to teach the other kids techniques at recess. Over time, my handwriting has slightly gone down hill because I type so often and don't write nearly as much. But it's still pretty good when I want it to be. Everyone in my family has nice handwriting. My mom and dad write almost identically which I find to be odd. I have some images of my handwriting saved on my old computer but nothing on here. My cell is broken- otherwise, I'd definitely share.

Justin Bieber- Shot Up

Maybe I have a dark sense of humor but I find this video to be hilarious. It's not just because Justin Bieber gets shot up. The way the wind gently blows through her hair when the officer checks her pulse- cinematic genius. The lead cop- "smoking" hot. I don't watch CSI but maybe I should start. I belieb I hear the sound of Emmy buzz.

Bonnaroo 2011 Lineup!

Yay for Conan! I sat next to him last year, lounging in the Artist area. He really does love Bonnaroo!

I'm excited for Ray LaMontagne, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Black Keys, Florence + the Machine, Portugal. the Man, Neil Young and many others. But I was really hoping for U2, MGMT, Red Hot Chili Peppers & a few others. I know the list will expand but I want to know now! VIP tickets are pretty expensive and my friend wants to get them before they sell out. Anyone with a connection?!

Nail Polish of the Moment: InStyle Red by OPI

In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm wearing InStyle Red (exclusive to magazine subsribers) by OPI. I really love this polish. It's a true red and best of all, you can get away with one coat- perfect if you're in a hurry. It has a beautiful cream finish and I adore the way it looks against my fair skin. LOVE!

METALLICA MANIA: Best Dressed- 2011 Grammy's

Joan Crawford's No Wire Hangers Award

BEST DRESSED: SELENA GOMEZ IN J. MENDEL

Metallic gowns were among the best at this year's Grammy Awards. I can't say enough about this look on Selena Gomez! The girl looks flawless! If I were 18, a size 2 and had thousands to spend on a prom gown, I'd find a way to get this dress. Selena rocked it better than the model did on the S/S 2011 ready-to-wear runway! In addition to her flawless physique, her hair and makeup are fresh and elegant. I want that lipstick/gloss! This was sexy yet age-appropriate and perfection for the Grammys. The champagne gold dress picked up as silver on some cameras but either way, it was amazing. I was so impressed. No one else came close to topping Selena. When I saw her in this, it was over for me. This will likely be one of my nominees for best dressed of the year! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Kim Kardashian in Kaufman Franco

As someone with curves, it can be difficult to find the right gown. I have large hips- I can relate. Kim said on the red carpet that she had to have the dress altered at the last minute because the gown wouldn't fit over her backside. While beaded gowns only accentuate the hips, Kim manages to look va-va-voom in this bronze number. I'm not sure why she keeps showing up to award shows but if she's going to be there, atleast the girl can dress for the occasion. She pulled off sexy without looking trashy. Nicely done.

Heidi Klum in Julien Macdonald

Heidi Klum manages to get invited to every award show. But she rarely disappoints on the red carpet. I love this gold gown on her. The hair, makeup and shoes I could do without but "the body" looks phenomenal. The back of this gown is absolutely stunning! It's somewhat edgy yet retains a romantic feel. I love that she wore this to the Grammys.

Leann Rimes in Reem Acra

The metallic trend continued as LeAnn Rimes strutted on to the red carpet with that guy she stole from some other woman. I don't care to know the details. But her dress looked fantastic. The hair & makeup- not so much. She still gets a best-dressed nod for staying on trend while standing out.

Side-by-side shots of my best-dressed list

Notable Mentions:
Lea Michele in Pucci- it amazes me when women can wear such a wide, deep neck but not show any clevage. For a woman with a wide-spaced chest, Lea Michele sure knows how to rock it. She used this cut at another awards show in the past and looked amazing. She knows what works for her. I loved this.

Julianne Hough in Malandrino- another person who probably got on the list from Ryan Seacrest (cough, Kim Kardashian) but atleast she brought her A-game to the red carpet. I thought she looked young and fresh in a beautiful print dress. She and Lea Michele both had a similar cut to their gowns.

Katy Perry's Grandmother- I caught a bit of Katy Perry's interview with E! on the red carpet. Her grandmother is an absolutely beautiful woman. I felt the need to express that she looked better than her granddaughter. That's all.

Cee-lo Green- Rocked the 'cock. I loved it. The muppets and his feathery peacock costume worked. My favorite performance of the night. He's uber talented & not even Gwyneth Paltrow could ruin it for me (liked her outfit, though).

...What The?!

Katy Perry in Frederick's of Hollywood- I've seen that dress before. Halloween 2006. A group of sorostitutes at WVU were dressed as Victoria's Secret angels. The wings- a flutter. The purple and neon green eyeshadow- caked. The cellophane skirt- held together with a safety pin. The bedazzled bra- check. The swing solo- I've seen that somewhere before as well. One too many times. Ridiculous. But I do think her skin and hair looked beautiful.

Ciara in Pucci- From the ribs up she looked like a beauty queen. But I don't care how rocking your body is- that slit was 6" too high and those shoes looked like they cost $9.99 at Payless. This was a near best-dressed but those few details ruined it for me. Most disappointing.

Lady Gaga- I admire what Gaga has done for performance art. I think a lot of people have been inspired to really kick up their live shows. I don't even mind her music. I actually like some of it. But she's not fooling me. I saw that random show on MTV. Stephanie isn't as crazy as she'd like you to think she is. She's an attention whore. True talent isn't so forced. Take it down about 15 notches and let the music do the talking.

Nicki Minaj- I really like her style of music but her style of dress should be saved for the stage. I get that she's sticking to her image but come on! It screams "I'm trying way too hard." I didn't realize that the trolls came out with a Flinstones' inspired line of dolls.

Rihanna in Jean Paul Gautier- I appreciate that RiRi wants to be a ginger. But we all can't pull it off. It's time for the Ronald McDonald hair to go. The dress- a disaster. She is such a beautiful girl. I expected so much more. But she's young and talented. There will be plenty more chances for her to get it right. The white tinsle and see-through gown needs to be saved for... I can't think of one place where this dress would be appropriate. Hmm... maybe a sophisticated "come as you are" soiree?

Looking forward to the Oscars and all the glamour that is to come!

Love,
Krista

Missed Connections- Valentine's Day Edition

I admit it. I read the missed connections section on craigslist. It's a fantastic form of entertainment. The posts cover all the genres- humor, horror, romance, etc. Despite Valentine's Day falling on a Monday this year, I imagine the missed connections section of the site will be overflowing with hopeless romantics. I'll be posting the ads that I find the sweetest, funniest and/or creepiest. Perhaps I can help someone find their long lost lover or just the girl they didn't have the courage to hit on at the grocery store. Fingers crossed for some quality postings!

I would do anything and I mean ANYTHING for you to join me in the back room the next time I come in there. And if you are too shy or on the clock, this offer is for your friend as well.

Dear Cecilia,

Would you consider having tea with a female CMU student?
I am twenty-seven, health-conscious, and I have a pleasant face.
I consider myself to be a fair and tolerant person.

Thank you.
