First Listen: LEAGUES

via Leagues' Facebook page

This past weekend, I was planning to see Mat Kearney for the first time ever. I've been a fan since my freshman or sophomore year of college (2005ish) but haven't had the opportunity to see him live (wt..?). In all honesty, I never hear people talk about Mat Kearney. Short of VH1, I never see him on TV or hear him on the radio. I didn't buy a ticket in advance because I didn't expect there to be many people rushing to buy one. Of course it sold out! Needless to say, I missed out on the show. I hope I don't have to wait another 6 years for a chance to see him again.

But the thing that disappointed me the most was missing out on seeing the opening act, Leagues. Supporting bands usually don't do much for me but this one intrigued me. I had never heard of them until I read that they would be opening for Mat Kearney. I checked out some of their music on their website and YouTube (they're from Nashville) and immediately was taken by their sound. They just released their self-titled debut EP, so hopefully they will be touring again in 2012. Check out their music below!

"Haunted"

"Magic"

"Mind Games"
