Pinterest Monthly: January 2014

I love this industrial window/door that flows into a warm, inviting breakfast nook. The contrast is so unpredictable and charming.

Excited to see mules finally coming back in style! The backs of my feet are so bony that it makes wearing heels and other types of stiff shoes unbearable. These are a dream.

Speaking of dreamy things, this little picture has been gracing my iPhone screen. I love the way it makes everything pinkish.

My current favorite length and style of hair. What I try to achieve when I put some effort into the tresses.

I'm all about a cable knit pillow, throw blanket, masculine table and chandelier. Elegant cozy is where it's at.

I love this idea of turning your signature (or a loved one's) into a piece of jewelry! I'm definitely considering using this Etsy seller.

It has been my mission to make it to Europe before I turn 30. My 28th is tomorrow and I'm getting my passport this week! My friends and I are planning to go this Spring! Hopefully, it will be just the first of many wonderful excursions. :)

If only I could buy this Chanel beauty or something like it while in Paris. Now that's out of this girl's price range but a girl can dream.

And on the subject of dreams, what better place to daydream than in an out of control shower like this. Actually, you could do a lot of things in there.

My inspirational quote of 2014!

Now Playing: "I'll Be Your Lover, Too" by Van Morrison
*This song is so underappreciated. Like most of Van's music, I could listen to it for hours (and do).

Blue Velvet Sofa. Need to find one of these beauties! In love.

Like this little DIY. Spray paint those classic magnetized alphabet letters an updated color. Of course, I fixate on gold but a metallic silver or sleek black would also look nice depending on the look of your fridge. Stainless steel and silver probably wouldn't be the best pairing.

Another DIY that I have to do! Just get some small geodes, gemstones or rocks and adhere them to standard bottle stoppers. Similar pieces go for a pretty penny. Gorgeous for wine nights or a bar cart.

Erin Fetherston recently curated a collection on one of my new favorite design/decor sites, One Kings Lane. She has impeccable taste. One of the things that stood out to me was her love of vintage Florentine. You can find a really nice selection of various pieces on eBay.

On my to-read list! I need to start doing more Get Lit posts. Book reviews, especially.

That Tyler Knott Gregson and his way with words. He's the poet laureate of the internet.

I saw this print when I was watching a YouTube closet tour. Yes, I spend my time watching strangers show what they have inside their homes. Anyway, this made me laugh. For most women, this certainly seems to be the case.

I'm loving black and kelly green for fall. I still need to find a hat like this one that suits me but unfortunately, I'm thinking I just might not be able to pull it off. You kinda have to be 6'0" to get away with the street urchin look.

I'm on a bit of a "no buy" until the holidays. No more makeup. No more clothes. No more shoes. No more purses. With a few allotted exceptions for travel, of course. But this shearling handbag trend (along with shearling shoes, coats, etc.) that Proenza Schouler kickstarted has me on the hunt.

I've recently discovered the Lime Crime brand. The unicorn packaging sold me. I picked up the lipstick shade Geradium. Love it!

These are a few of my favorite things. Need to have this in my closet.

Doesn't this gorgeous stretch of coastal roadway in New Zealand just make you want to go for a long drive in a convertible with good music and even better company? Sigh...

And those two. Fuck those two.

Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. The largest private residence in America. Would love to take a trip down to beautiful Asheville and check this place out.

A Moroccan leather pouf, an elegant tray with some feminine votives... and I'm in a trance.

*Gotta have mad love for any song that can romanticize The Dollar General! ;)

I came across this stunning structure and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's located just outside of Pittsburgh. I'll do a full post soon dedicated to this property.

Playoff beards are happening & I like it. To say I have a type is quite the understatement.

This needs to be mandatory on all flights. Everywhere. Human rights, people.

The Great Gatsby. I LOVED it! Instantly one of my favorite movies ever. This section of the movie was particularly beautiful. Fantastic editing and music selection. Want to see it again and again.

A metallic horse. Called an Akhal-Teke. Native to Turkmenistan (wherrrre?!).

Greece. So damn beautiful.

Vintage Chanel jewelry made from buttons. I want to start making & selling my own. Love this idea of repurposing.

Sealing Wax for envelopes and other materials. Love this. Convinced that it reminds me of a past life- back when I lived inside a palace ;)

Milk Glass. Local vintage finds. Affordable luxury.

This denim Valentino cosmetic case/clutch. Precious.
Donald J. Pliner Nuri sandal. These are too cute for summer.

I've been using this expression far too often (albeit in a jokingly condescending manner). No need to let trivial things in life get to you, friends.

Now Reading. Jen Kirkman is hilarious. Interesting perspective. Refreshing point of view. I feel like I'm in the minority for not wanting children anytime in the near future. Love kids but want to take it easy for another decade or so.

Clarins Summer 2013 Lippies. I'm a bit biased because I work for the brand but these things are so innovative and absolutely adorable.

Art Installation. Chain link fence with acrylic squares.

My hometown (Pittsburgh) at sunrise. She's a beauty.

Lusting after a summer house in The Hamptons. No big deal.

Those floors. That ceiling. I could really become a great cook with a kitchen like this.

Love this shot. Fresh florals & summer ensemble.

This Zara bag. Got it in orange (pictured) and blue. I'm sure I'll be able to fit nothing inside. I hope I don't bust it. So cute. Modern and unique.

Whenever you want to punch a wall, run away or cry... laugh.

(Give it a few seconds to play). This video. That song.

Now Playing: Evil Friends by Portugal. The Man
*I love almost every second of it. Early favorites: "Plastic Soldiers", "Modern Jesus" and "Smile" but that list is revolving with each listen.
