Speedy Delivery: It's The Little Things

This afternoon, my subscription to Architectural Digest finally arrived. I'm always looking at their material online, so it's nice to have the real deal at my doorstep. In the mailbox was also my latest Juelp Maven It Girl box featuring some lovely colors for spring. Getting things in the mail makes me so happy.

This month's Julep box was beautiful but I do have similar colors (of course I do). I need to do some spring cleaning and narrow down my polish collection a bit (or a lot). I have about 400 bottles right now and that figure contains way too many dupes. Maybe when I get an Instagram (I still have to find the patience to save the pictures from my BlackBerry, otherwise I would have gotten an iPhone a long time ago), I'll open a little store. There's always eBay as well. I have lots of goodies that aren't getting the attention they deserve. Reasonably priced to a loving home.

Possible names for my store? I have a few ideas. Giving a name to something is also a favorite thing for me to do.

Beauty Alert! Birchbox Edition

As a total beauty and fashion junkie, I love to read magazines and blogs to keep up-to-date on the latest trends. I follow quite a few beauty gurus on YouTube and subsequently read their blogs, tweets, etc. One particular guru, MissGlamorazzi, has a dailybooth account. As I was checking out her pictures, I noticed in one photo, she was holding a beautiful box and had a huge smile on her face. The girl has great taste and I knew whatever was inside was likely pretty cool. I was struck by the beautiful packaging and read the words on the box, "Birchbox".

I know that MissGlamorazzi lives near San Francisco so I assumed it was from an upscale boutique. I googled "Birchbox" and was delighted. Birchbox is a service that sends you four to five deluxe beauty samples each month for $10. It's a great way to try out new products from high-end luxury companies like NARS, Stila and Laura Mercier.

I'm not sure if I'm going to subcribe for the year but for now, I did sign-up for one month. My Birchbox is expected to arrive on or near February 10th! It will be a nice post-25th birthday gift slash early Valentine's present to myself. I'm obsessed with all things miniature or beauty-related, so this type of company is right up my alley.

I'll hopefully post a haul video next month on my YouTube channel but I will definitely blog about my first Birchbox! :)

2011 Astrological Guide!

This afternoon, Sydney Omarr's 2011 Astrological Guide for Aquarius arrived in the mail! If you know me well, you know that I love astrology. I have always been drawn to it but over the past few years, I have studied it further. I had last year's edition and loved it so much that I had to get it again. It provides a daily horoscope along with a ton of valuable information on the planetary positions and moon phases. Fascinating!

I was excited to read that Jupiter is in Aries in 2011. This is great news for Aquarians. The book said that 2011 is the perfect time to write a book, blog or communicate with people in a tangible way. My goal for this year is to complete my book, blog regularly and start my YouTube channel. The stars are aligned!

Speaking of my book, I am really proud of my progress during this first week of writing! I have about 2,000 words completed and hope to finish my first chapter today or tomorrow! I have read what I have so far to my sister and cousin and both really responded to the material. This made me so happy! :)

I'm expecting a few more things in the mail this week. I'll be writing beauty blogs on those goodies, so be sure to keep a lookout for the new posts!

Love,
Krista
