Pinterest Monthly: February 2014

I love this idea of using vintage/antique door knobs as decorative wine stoppers.

I also think repurposing an antique tea set for holding vanity items is genius.

This is my type of room. Into everything pictured.

I've been loving kimonos and hats (not necessarily together but it definitely works). I picked up this beautiful lace style from Forever 21 but am still on the search for the perfect hat.

Obsessed with this blouse from Nasty Gal. Unfortunately, it's currently sold out but I'm checking the site like a hawk to snag it when it comes back in stock.

Hopeless romantic.

Style inspiration for the streets.

I basically collect cosmetic pouches and other small leather goods. I really want this one! Need to track it down.

Dreaming of the sky. #LIKEaG6

Going to attempt this look when I paint my nails tonight. Stunning neutral gradient with a bit of a glitz.

Apparently, this is a penthouse suite in Monaco. I need this in my life. The things one could do...

My current iPhone wallpaper. What can I say? I love lipstick.

This looks incredible. Pittsburgh needs to put a Ferris Wheel observational thingy and/or Swings on Mount Washington. That would be a smart move for tourism and so much fun!

Since the Oscars are on this weekend, I thought I'd share this throwback shot. I loved this dress on Michelle Williams (as well as the hair and makeup!). She and Heath Ledger were such a sweet couple.

 True.

People Watching: Coachella Street Style

Black and Yellow! Head to toe perfection. The red lip really polishes the look off.

I hope she was in air conditioning when she rocked this jacket. Love the sunglasses and bag. Blue.

Could I Have That! You can never go wrong in a flowing white dress and great boots. Could I have her legs?

All black with a chambray shirt. Never fails.

Proof that hair and makeup aren't always sacrificed in the heat.

Great use of color and textures. One of my favorite looks.

All for this top!

Then there's this top with that all too familiar life reminder.

Beating the heat in style. Love the way she incorporated the blouse.

Everything.

All about the rib cleavage this season. Great shades and bag.

Simple elegance.

Metallic

I saw this metallic sweater from Zara on a fashion YouTube channel and instantly fell in love with its color and cut. The fabric begs to be touched. I think it's gorgeous for fall and will contrast beautifully with my copper/red hair. I can't wait to get it in the mail and try it on! :)

One In Every Color, Please!

Double-Cloth Townhouse Trench, J. Crew, $350.

I saw this amazing coat on Brooklyn Blonde's blog. J. Crew always has the best coats. I'd love this in camel (or "caramel" as J. Crew is calling it) but all of the other colors are also gorgeous!

The Summer Sun's Calling My Name...

The Brady Bunch was one of my favorite TV shows as a kid. I watched the re-runs after school and also tuned-in to the program on Nick at Nite. I've seen every episode; many times. Since the creator of the show, Sherwood Schwartz, passed away today, I wanted to dedicate a blog to the far-out Brady sartorial selections! I remember thinking as a kid that their outfits were crazy but fashion is constantly recycling itself. The 70s have been popular for the past couple seasons. Today, I could easily spot similar ensembles on the creatures of Lawrenceville. Pabst, anyone?

And what would be a Brady blog without some good time music?!

Guilt from Gilt?

Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to have accumulated a pretty nice collection of designer handbags. But like any addict, one more never sounds like a bad idea. Since joining Gilt Groupe a couple years ago, I have developed a habit of online shopping. The merchandise and sales are often too good to pass up. The result- lunches spent snatching up anything that looks luxe. My most recent purchase was a few hours ago. I purchased Botkier's Howard Street Satchel in iris. It should arrive sometime next week. I've been lusting after this particular shade of blue leather for the past couple of seasons. It was only a matter of time before I came across a design and price point that would satisfy me. This will be my first Botkier purchase and I hope it won't disappoint. I think it will be the perfect pop of color to pair with light denim cut-offs, neutral blouses or a solid black ensemble. Needless to say, I'm excited to get my bag but I do have a bit of guilt from all of my Gilt purchases. The sales are just too good to be true. It almost seems like I'm sinning. But as long as my wallet isn't empty, my heart is still full. The new addition:

If you have yet to experience the thrill of a flash designer sale, sign-up for Gilt today! My exclusive invitation: http://www.gilt.com/invite/kristaselene

Happy 25th Birthday, Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen

I'm just a few months older than Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen. I grew up loving them on one of my favorite television shows of all time, Full House. As an adult, I look to the quirky twins for fashion inspiration. While many are puzzled by the often street urchin appearance of the pint sized stars, Mary Kate and Ashley are always seasons ahead of even the most stylish individuals. It's best to view their sartorial choices with an open mind for the future. Here are some of their most interesting fashion moments in recent years:
