Luxe Living: Irresistible Interiors

I'm at that stage in my life where I'm itching to have my own home and decorate it! I really enjoy looking online for design inspiration. I would describe my taste/style as a mixture between traditional, shabby chic and eclectic. I love the idea of incorporating books, art and treasures from various travels to add a sense of personality to a space. I'm the type of person who loathes the thought of being the same as everyone else, so I'm excited to see what my future home will look like. I know when the time comes, I'll definitely be scouring places like flea markets and thrift stores to find unique and affordable pieces. It's fun to imagine!

Luxe Living: California's Villa Montana

Pittsburgh-area native, Joe Montana's California Wine Country estate has recently dropped $14 million-dollars in its asking price. Hurry now (dare to dream)! The gorgeous property boasts over 500 acres of land in Sonoma County, contains nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of living space, an equestrian stable, guest house, wine cellar, basketball court, spa and so much more. I guess it wouldn't suck to live there, right?

I think Villa Montana is absolutely spectacular. I love its architectural style and breathtaking locale. It's definitely one of the most beautiful homes I've seen.

Luxe Living: The House From Practical Magic

"My darling girl, when are you going to understand that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage."

I recently watched the charming movie, Practical Magic. Since Halloween season is upon us, I thought it was the perfect time to share the gorgeous Victorian home that was used in this film. I was very saddened to discover that this home was actually built for the project (taking about 8 months to complete construction). It was just an architectural shell. But what a gorgeous building it was! Unfortunately, when shooting wrapped on San Juan Island in Washington state (the movie was actually set in New England), the structure was destroyed. Despite not being a real home, the set designers did a phenomenal job. I was so inspired by the decor and overall style of this house!

Living in western Pennsylvania, there are many houses that resemble this style of architecture. Sewickley, PA, which is one of my favorite parts of the Greater Pittsburgh area, has many stunning Victorian mansions. I've always been a fan of older homes. I could definitely see myself living in a place like this someday.

Luxe Living: FRENCH CHATEAU

Owned by the Knights Templar in the Middle Ages, this historic 18th-19th century neo classical chateau is situated 40 minutes from Bordeaux. The property can trace its historical roots back to the first century AD when a Gallo-Roman villa first occupied the hill top site. The 10-bedroom estate is nestled amongst the rolling hills of the French countryside. The property is approached by a long, tree-lined drive and is framed on either side by sprawling vineyards. With gorgeous views and equipped with commercial wine making machinery, this is an enophile's dream home. It has been a wine estate since before the French Revolution and also includes an estate manager's house. With so much romance, elegance and beauty... I think I'm in love!

Luxe Living: PA GOMO, TELLURIDE

I came across Telluride, Colorado's Pa Gomo (meaning "on the mountain" in the African dialect of Chinyanga) while paging through Christie's International Real Estate. The 11,600 square foot home boasts 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The palatial stone and glass mansion rests on 35 acres of serene land with private trails and breathtaking vistas. Pa Gomo is currently on the market and can be yours for just under $20 million... dare to dream!
