Want, Need, Wear, Read

WNRW3

Want: Kate Spade Catherine Street Pippa Bag. The last thing in the world I need to is another purse. I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore until Christmas but I might cave and find this before the start of Fall. Hopefully by then it will be on sale. Those interior bows are too cute.

Need: A hair cut! It grows so fast. Because my hair is long and extremely thick, I tend to just throw it up in a bun or ponytail during the Summer months. The heat and humidity leads me to forgo a hair cut. When the time comes for me to actually style it and wear it down, I'm left being mad at myself for not getting it cut.

Wear: Earrings! I've been replenishing my jewelry box quite a bit. As usual, I'm loving studs (but also getting back into the idea of dangling). Opals, rough stones, blues/greens and citrines have predominantly caught my eye.

Read: Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav. Her poetry and drawings are inspiring. So beautiful.

Now Playing: "Black Skinhead" by Kanye West
*Gotta appreciate any song that mentions my last name (Roman) and my high school mascot (Trojan) all in one line!

Automatic Writing: An Open Submission to Kanye West (Or Whomever)

I gift you with these lyrics that just randomly came into my head. I wasn't writing or even thinking about music at all. I was simply reading something that used "past tense" in a sentence. Everything else immediately built around that. The first quatrain is what came to me from out of nowhere. The second set of lines is what I wrote to group with it. I'm not a rapper, so I obviously have no use for this lyrical poetry. After the rap came into my head, I couldn't tell it to go away. I Googled the word pairings. From what I could gather, it seems that no one has used this ridiculously magical flow. Make it happen. You're welcome...

So light the incense
This is gonna be intense
The last time's in the past tense
This time it'll make sense

Hold on to your lenses
Before they go hazy
Dreaming of the day when things'll get crazy
Between you and me
The way it's meant to be
Always and forever baby
That's what they call destiny

Sounds Familiar: Katy Perry Edition

I just watched Katy Perry's new video for her song E.T. I'll just start by saying that I'm not a fan of Katy Perry (her song Fireworks makes me wish that someone would detonate one inside her vocal chords). But I admit that I do like this song and video. I'm into the whole outerspace, alien thing. For Halloween, I'm already planning on being some sort of futuristic Pleiadian. But on to the point of this post; I think that E.T. eerily sounds a lot like All The Things She Said by t.a.T.u. When I heard E.T. for the first time, all I kept thinking was "This is not enough, This is not enough"... which led me down memory lane and back to those two lesbian singers, t.a.T.u. I don't know if there is a similar musical pattern or rhythm going on or if it's just the off key singing but take a listen for yourself. What do you think?
