Trivial Pursuit

Tonight, I went to one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh, Pub Quiz at brillobox. The questions tend to be really challenging but the ambiance is always fantastic. I love the decor and lighting fixtures at brillobox. The drinks are also great.

My teammates and I (well, technically it was just me and my friend, Jen, since my cousin was mentally preoccupied during both rounds of play) came in 9th place. Sure, there was only 16 teams but this isn't your average pool of contestants. The people who frequent brillobox are really smart. They take their trivia nights seriously... usually with 6 people on a team. The fact that I didn't come in last place was enough to make my week. Way to go Team Headtrip Parade (Gavin DeGraw song/lyric reference... inside joke).

Things I learned or proudly knew, while playing trivia at brillobox:

The largest earthquake ever to be recorded in the United States actually happened in Alaska. I knew it was a 9.2 magnitude quake but for some reason, thought it was in Missouri.

I know the NFL really well. Of course I was able to list the four teams that have cats as mascots within a matter of seconds: Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals.

The Ninja Turtles and their respective art masterpieces

Cult movies- Heathers, Showgirls, This Is Spinal Tap

Name That Tune- Outkast, Weezer, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pharrell...

Already looking forward to next time :)
