Word of the Week: MACABRE

In an effort to expand my vocabulary, I'm going to feature a word of the week! I'll try my best to use this word in speech and in writing to ensure that I soak it in.

The word for May 2nd-8th is:

MACABRE adj.


Definition:
-having death as a subject
-comprising or including a personalized representation of death
-dwelling on the gruesome
-tending to produce horror in a beholder

Examples of MACABRE:
1. a macabre story of murder and madness
2. Police discovered a macabre scene inside the house.
